Analysis: Barring a major injury to another NFL starting quarterback in the next few weeks, it doesn't make sense for the Jets to trade Bridgewater before the season starts. He won't extract much value if he's traded for a backup spot, so the Jets would be better served holding him and waiting for a team to need a QB. That would give them more leverage for a better return.
Retained: Bilal Powell, Isaiah Crowell, Eli McGuire, Trenton Cannon
Cut: George Atkinson, Thomas Rawls, Dimitri Flowers (fullback), Lawrence Thomas (fullback), Charcandrick West
Analysis: The Jets could try to put McGuire on short-term injured reserve, but he'd still have to make the initial 53-man roster to do that.
