Tyrod Taylor just erased any doubt about Justin Fields’ Jets job security. With Fields sidelined by a concussion, Taylor got the Week 3 start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the results so far could not have been uglier.
The Jets went into halftime trailing 20-6, largely undone by Taylor’s brutal performance. His struggles were capped off in the worst possible fashion, an ugly pick-six right before the half that turned a potentially manageable game into a lopsided one.
Taylor and the Jets averaged just 2.8 yards per carry over the first two quarters of the game, with the veteran quarterback finishing the half with 55 passing yards.
