CLEVELAND — This was unacceptable. Period. End of discussion. Losing this way, to this team, in this disgusting manner. Blame the players, sure. They were the ones who slipped on all the banana peels. Blame the kid quarterback, who came careening back to earth and was outplayed by his opposite number.
But put this disgrace of a 21-17 loss solidly on the back of the coach. This was Todd Bowles’ baby. He is the one who has talked tough for four years about establishing winning cultures and accountability. We are still waiting for both. The Jets cannot wait forever.
