A little more than four minutes into his session with media on Thursday, Shawn Jefferson dropped formalities.
The Jets’ receivers coach had been asked about Sam Darnold, and he gave his praise with emphasis.
“Excuse my French when I say this,” Jefferson said, “but he’s a f–kin’ dude. He’s a f–kin’ dude with a f–kin’ arm and he’s accurate as s–t.
“So,” he went on after some laughter, “excuse that.”
Darnold enters his second season with a new coaching staff and a new system — and as a cornerstone around whom the Jets hope they have started to build a franchise.
