Ryan Fitzpatrick’s thumb isn’t the worst Jets surgery today

Both Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and running back Zac Stacy underwent surgery on Friday, but they face much different timetables to return.

Fitzpatrick had surgery on his left thumb to repair a torn ligament. Jets coach Todd Bowles said the expectation is he will be ready to play in the Jets’ next game at the Texans on Nov. 22. Fitzpatrick said earlier this week he did not want to have surgery if it meant missing games.

Stacy had surgery on his left ankle, which he fractured at the end of the first half Thursday night on a kickoff return.
