Rex Ryan says he knew he was a goner before his dreadful 2014 season even began.
“I knew we weren’t going to have a good team when we never did anything in free agency,” the former Jets coach said in an interview with HBO’s Real Sports that will air next week.
“100% I knew I was done,” he added when asked if he knew he would be fired before the season began. “Yep, 100%.”
Considering how much confidence Ryan has in himself, it’s pretty uncharacteristic for him to say he knew the Jets weren’t going to be good heading into the season.
