NY Jets name new defensive captain, but no offensive captain

During his media availability on Friday, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced that Quinnen Williams would be the Jets’ third captain for the rest of the season, joining C.J. Mosley and Justin Hardee. He replaces Aaron Rodgers, who was initially chosen as one of the team’s three captains.

Captain update: DT Quinnen Williams is now a permanent captain, joining LB C.J. Mosley and ST Justin Hardee. Williams replaces Aaron Rodgers as one of the 3 permanent captains. Williams finished 4th in the player voting before the season, so Saleh thought it would be appropriate…
