A jersey number has been passed from one great New York Jet to another.
In a post on Twitter (X) Monday night, punter Thomas Morstead officially passed his No. 5 jersey to star wide receiver Garrett Wison.

The switch was alluded to by Wilson before the 2023 season, as he stated that it would be the last year he would wear No. 17. It also means that Morstead, who is currently a free agent, would need a new number if/when he returns to the team next year.
