NY Jets cut veteran kicker after signing ‘Thiccer Kicker’

The New York Jets are narrowing down their options at the kicking position ahead of training camp.

Following the addition of kicker Harrison Mevis, the Jets announced they have waived kicker Anders Carlson.

We have signed K Harrison Mevis to the active roster.

Additionally, we have waived K Anders Carlson.

A sixth-round pick out of Auburn in 2023, Carlson signed with the Jets in November 2024 and kicked in five games for New York, connecting on 81.
