One of the New York Jets’ biggest offseason signings publically addressed his benching for the first time.
At Wednesday’s media availability, wide receiver Allen Lazard spoke about being benched for last week’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
Lazard said he was “a little caught off guard” by being inactive for the game but said he saw Saleh’s reasoning after talking to him. The receiver added that he found out Wednesday and that there were no previous discussions about the benching prior to it happening.
When asked if he thought his play warranted a benching, Lazard said that “it is not his decision” and that “I just go out there and try to be the best me every single day.
