Not really. The three most notable cuts were (in this order) inside linebacker Kevin Minter, defensive end Xavier Cooper, and outside linebacker David Bass. Minter had been working as a backup inside linebacker, along with Neville Hewitt. But the Jets gave Kevin Pierre-Louis $2.5 million guaranteed, so that hurt Minter's roster chances. Cooper got beat out for a backup defensive end spot by Henry Anderson. The Jets sent a seventh-round draft pick to the Colts earlier this year for Anderson. Bass entered training camp as a second stringer, after a fairly strong 2017 season. But he was quickly passed by Frankie Luvu and Brandon Copeland.
