The Jets on Saturday drafted Miami tight end Chris Herndon with the seventh pick in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Their tight end situation looked questionable this offseason, when Austin Seferian-Jenkins left for the Jaguars. The Jets opted to not replace him in free agency with a high-profile (or even medium-profile) signing.
That left Jordan Leggett as the Jets' top tight end. And he still might be.
But he is going to have some competition from Herndon, who is 6-foot-4 and 253 pounds. The Jets also have Eric Tomlinson, who is more of a blocking tight end.
