The New York Jets have reunited with national nonprofit STOMP Out Bullying and Municipal Credit Union to run the Jets Upstander of the Week program, which rewards children throughout the tri-state area in their efforts to combat bullying of all kinds. The first 2018 edition honors Siya L. of Piscataway, NJ, a second-grader at Millburn Middle School.
“Siya is always cooperative with others,” Millburn guidance counselor Dominick Pisa said in a Jets team statement. “She has a love of learning and being helpful to teachers and classmates. Since our school has created the buddy bench, Siya has taken the time to acknowledge if a peer needs someone to play with and takes initiative to introduce herself.
