New York Jets HC Adam Gase unconcerned about Le’Veon Bell absence

The holdout of New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell will last at least one more day.

The Jets unofficially took the field for the first time in 2019 on Tuesday morning, which marked the opening of voluntary minicamp. Bell was not among the reporting offensive parties and linebacker Darron Lee was also a no-show. League rules mandate that all offseason programs are optional, save for a mandatory minicamp in June.

Head coach Adam Gase downplayed the connotations behind their failure to show.

“It’s voluntary,” Gase said after practice at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center, per Andy Vazquez of the North Jersey Media Group.
