This season, one phase of the game for the New York Jets has been the most consistent. The special teams unit has been the rock of the team.
Punter Lachlan Edwards is actually evidence of some growth on this team. Last season was an inauspicious one, to say the least for Edwards. It was an okay rookie season, but he definitely needed to show signs of improvement.
In 2016, Edwards averaged 40.8 yards per punt. Against Miami, he had five punts which averaged 48.6 yards per punt and three inside the 20-yard line.
It was the third consecutive game in which he had multiple punts inside the 20 (a career first).
