The Christian Hackenberg era in the Alliance of American Football has come to an end.
The former New York Jets draft pick has seen his reign as the Memphis Express starting quarterback come to an end. Memphis head coached Mike Singletary announced this week that Zach Mettenberger will start the team’s next game on Saturday afternoon against San Diego (4:00 p.m. ET, B/R Live).
Thus potentially ends Hackenberg’s first stretch of starting on the professional level. It was an opportunity denied to him in New York, where he did not appear in a regular season game.
