Mason Taylor film breakdown: Is the rookie ready to be Jets’ TE1?

Fourteen.

That’s how many years it has been since a New York Jets tight end posted 500+ receiving yards and 5+ touchdowns in an NFL season. Dustin Keller pulled it off in both 2010 and 2011.

Since then, there have been 125 instances of an NFL tight end hitting those benchmarks in a season. None were Jets.

It has been a rough ride for New York at tight end. But they finally have hope in the form of second-round pick Mason Taylor.

The rookie from LSU is projected to jump straight into the fire as New York’s clear-cut TE1.
