Local kid Stays put; Jeremy Ruckert Signs 2-Year Extension

Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert, the local kid and former season-ticket holder, is staying in Green and White after signing a 2-year extension earlier today that will pay him $10 million with a chance to tack on another million which could bring the deal’s value to $11 million.

A former third-round draft pick (101st overall) out of Ohio State, Ruckert was used primarily as a blocker and saw very few targets through the air. While his production this season has been modest, his 163 yards mark a career high with three games left to play. His 20 receptions this season are also a personal best and shows Ruckert can be more of a contributor on offense than he has been in the past.
