While the Jets are waiting for their newest offensive lineman to take the field, they watched another key one limp off the field Friday, when left tackle Kelvin Beachum exited practice early with a right ankle injury.
Beachum was able to walk to the locker room, a good sign, but the Jets are still going to have him go through tests to see how serious the injury is.
“I don’t think it’s going to be too long,” coach Adam Gase said. “We’re just going through our normal deal, just making sure everything’s all right.”
The Jets made a splash this week by signing center Ryan Kalil to bolster their line.
