You’ve heard the phrase: “An offensive line is only as strong as its weakest link.”
Going into the 2024 season, many people thought John Simpson would be the New York Jets’ weakest link up front. Signed to a modest two-year, $12 million deal, Simpson seemed like a placeholder surrounded by big-name linemen.
Despite the low expectations from fans and media, Simpson’s film with the Baltimore Ravens showed a player who could be much better than his salary let on.
That turned out to be the case.
Simpson started all 17 games for the Jets and established himself as one of the team’s most reliable players on either side of the ball.
