Joe Flacco expected to back up Mike Whte when Jets face Bills

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Joe Flacco is expected to suit up on Sunday and be Mike White’s backup.

Flacco has been inactive in the two games since the Jets acquired the veteran quarterback from Philadelphia. But Robert Saleh said Flacco "probably" would be the Jets’ No. 2 quarterback against the Bills.

"He is ready to go," Saleh said. "He’s been studying his butt off for the past couple of weeks."

Although Zach Wilson is practicing this week, Saleh said he wouldn’t be activated. The Jets also can’t elevate Josh Johnson from the practice squad anymore.

Johnson was brought up the last two weeks from the practice roster, which is the maximum elevations allowed for a player.
