Jets’ Zach Wilson avoids ACL tear: Injury is a bone bruise (Report)

Information is beginning to surface regarding the status of New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson after he suffered a knee injury in the first quarter of the team’s preseason opener in Philadelphia.

According to Jeff Howe, a national NFL insider for The Athletic, sources indicate that Wilson suffered a bone bruise and that his ligaments “are in good shape.” A timetable for Wilson’s return is still unknown, although a bone bruise is certainly one of the best-case scenarios. Howe adds that more tests are coming on a potential meniscus injury to determine an exact timetable for his return.
