Will Tye's brief tenure with the Jets is over.

On Tuesday, the team announced it waived Tye from the 53-man roster. Tye is now subject to the waiver wire. If he clears, he will become a free agent and free to sign with any team.

The Jets also released running back Marcus Murphy from the practice squad. They did not announce subsequent additions, although receiver Jalin Marshall could take Tye's spot on the roster.

Marshall, who was suspended the first four games of the season, is eligible to return this week.

The Jets claimed Tye, 25, off the waiver wire earlier this season when the Giants waived him during their 53-man roster trim.
