Jets Snag Speedy Ohio State Wide Receiver Devin Smith In Round 2

CHICAGO (CBSNewYork/AP) — Owner Woody Johnson hinted earlier this week that the Jets were going to try to put “more targets” around quarterback Geno Smith.

On Friday night, they did just that, selecting Ohio State wide receiver Devin Smith in the second round of the NFL draft.

Smith, a 6-foot, 196-pound burner, was considered one of the best deep ball trackers in college football. Smith finished with just 33 receptions in 2014, but had 931 yards — averaging 28.2 yards per catch — and 12 touchdowns.
