Jets sign offensive tackle Charles Brown

The Jets announced Friday that they have signed minicamp tryout player Charles Brown.

The 6-5, 300-pound offensive tackle replaces tackle Sean Hooey, who was released on Thursday.

Brown, who played at USC, was a second-round pick of the Saints in the 2010 draft. From 2010-13, he played in 37 games for the Saints and made 22 starts, including 14 in 2013. Last season, Brown signed with the Giants and played two games with no starts.

Hooey signed with the Jets on Jan. 23 after being on the Rams' practice squad the past two seasons.
