It might not have been a popular decision with fans, but the announcement by Jets CEO and chairman Christopher Johnson that Adam Gase would return as the head coach next year was applauded by quarterback Sam Darnold. What else would you expect?
In the midst of this 2-7 season, if one thing has been clear it’s that Darnold and Gase are joined at the hip. That in itself is enough reason to give Gase another year.
“I knew that Christopher was confident in Coach Gase, so it didn’t come as a surprise to me,” Darnold said.
