Jets owner wants to end playoff drought, but team needs more work

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- A five-year playoff drought.

"Why are you reminding me?" Woody Johnson asked with a semi-playful wince.

The New York Jets' owner was speaking to a small gathering of reporters at the swanky Boca Raton Resort & Club, which hosted the NFL spring meetings this week. Johnson was in a relaxed mood, enjoying the back-and-forth banter. He turned serious, though, as he considered his team's recent misfortunes, easily the longest postseason dry spell on his watch (since 2000).

"I don't like the drought," he said. "I want to be in the playoffs and win the Super Bowl.
