Jets’ Marcus Maye injury saga has already begun

Third-year safety Marcus Maye is going to have to wait to start training camp.

The Jets placed Maye on the active/physically unable to perform list on Monday in advance of training camp.

Maye is returning from an injury-filled 2018. Shoulder surgery ended his season in November. He also dealt with ankle and thumb injuries. During the spring, Maye was limited to seven-on-seven drills and did not participate in team drills. Coach Adam Gase said the team was being cautious with Maye and it sounded like the hope was he would be ready for training camp. But now he will have to wait.
