Jets LB C.J. Mosley will know in next week or two if he needs surgery

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley, who will miss his fifth straight game Sunday with a severe groin/abdominal injury, said he will know in the next week or two if he needs season-ending surgery.

Mosley is hoping a recent injection of platelet-rich plasma will heal the injury, which has kept him out of eight games, but the window is closing.

"I'm trying to do everything I can to avoid surgery and play," Mosley told ESPN on Friday. "Worst-case scenario: I'll have to get surgery if next week doesn't go well.
