Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley is being suspended by the NFL, a source confirmed.
It was unclear how long the suspension will be or what policy Kerley violated, but the Jets now will be without one of their top offensive players.
Kerley has 22 catches for 217 yards and one touchdown. He is also the team’s punt returner. Last week against the Falcons, he muffed a punt in the fourth quarter that cost the Jets.
The 28-year-old returned to the Jets this season after one year with the 49ers. He was drafted by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2011 draft and spent his first five seasons with the team.
