Jets coordinator knows where blame lies for anemic offense

Don’t blame Sam Darnold. Don’t fault Todd Bowles. The real problem with the Jets’ anemic offense is Jeremy Bates — according to Jeremy Bates.

“We have to score more points, and that’s on me,” the team’s first-year offensive coordinator said following Thursday’s practice as the Jets prepared to host the Bills Sunday at MetLife Stadium. “I need to put our players in better positions to be successful. I need to put our players in better positions to score touchdowns. That’s my responsibility.”

Bates didn’t offer much insight into what he believes needs to change, other than being a little more aggressive.
