As one would expect the day after cutting their roster down to 53 spots, the Jets have claimed three players who were cut loose by other teams.
Tight end Jelani Woods, offensive tackle Esa Pole and linebacker Cam Jones. Pole and Jones were both let go by the Chiefs while Woods was dropped by the Indianapolis Colts.
A monster target at tight end, checking in at 6′ 8”, Woods is a physical speciman whose biggest issue has been injuries. As a rookie in 2022 he hauled in 25 passes for 312 yards and 3 touchdowns. A promising start derailed by injuries has kept Woods off the field since that time.
