The New York Jets have not had a franchise left tackle since D’Brickashaw Ferguson.
Olu Fashanu is looking to end the drought.
With the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Jets selected the Penn State left tackle despite already having Tyron Smith. After cross-training between left and right tackle during training camp, Fashanu went into the season as the Jets’ backup swing tackle behind starters Smith and Morgan Moses.
Fashanu was quickly tossed into the fire as a rookie. By Week 4, he was starting at right tackle in place of an injured Moses.
