The Jets haven't had a prolific pass-rushing linebacker in years.

Really, the Jets haven't had that terrorizing figure since John Abraham left in 2005 after averaging nearly nine sacks in his six seasons with the team.

Barring a monster breakout, this year's team doesn't have that player, either. Guys like Jordan Jenkins, Josh Martin, Brandon Copeland and Frankie Luvu are solid players, but none of them are likely to end up on the NFL's stat leaderboards.

And that's exactly why a mix-and-match approach may be the way to go.
