Fortune Shines On Jets As USC Stud Defensive End Falls To Them At No. 6

CHICAGO (CBSNewYork/AP) — A shocker.

New general manager Mike Maccagnan continued his impressive makeover of the New York Jets on Thursday night, selecting USC defensive end Leonard Williams with the No. 6 overall pick in the NFL draft.

Williams was expected to be a top 5 pick, but after the Washington Redskins chose to select Iowa offensive tackle Brandon Scherff at No. 5, Maccagnan jumped at the chance to grab a player many think might be the best talent in the entire draft.
