Former Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson among players nominated for Hall of Fame

Former Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson, in his first year of eligibility, was among the 94 players nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

Of those 94 players, 18 will be presented to the Hall of Fame selection committee during its annual meeting the day before the Super Bowl. The committee will then elect the Class of 2017.

Tomlinson, now 37, was selected by the San Diego Chargers with the No. 5 pick in the 2001 NFL Draft. He quickly established himself as one of the best backs in the NFL.
