Ex-Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis retires | First-ballot Hall of Famer?

Ex-Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis on Wednesday announced his retirement.

(You can read his entire retirement announcement down below.)

Now, the question becomes: Is Revis a first-ballot Hall of Famer?

You could certainly make the argument.

After all, he was one of the best corners of his era. Revis played from 2007-17 (including 2007-12 and 2015-16 with the Jets). He was a seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro. That should certainly get him in the conversation for first-ballot Hall of Fame status.

(And if the Jets are willing to put past frustrations with Revis aside, he absolutely should be inducted into their Ring of Honor at the first possible opportunity.
