Entering the 2025 season, questions were looming surrounding the Jets’ wide receiver position, especially at the WR2 spot. As the Jets and future Hall of Famer Davante Adams parted ways, the Jets sent the message that Garrett Wilson is the team’s WR1. Another indicator of Wilson being the team’s WR1 was when they extended him to a four-year $130 million deal. With all that being said, the WR2 job was left open for the taking. Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie III are changing the conversation about this position.
As the season went on, Tyler Johnson, Josh Reynolds, Arian Smith, Xavier Gipson, and Allen Lazard took opportunities filling in for the Jets’ WR2 spot.
