Eric Tomlinson season over after he dropped a weight on his foot

Talk about a stunning — and painful — way to end your season.

Jets tight end Eric Tomlinson required surgery after dropping a weight on his foot during a post-practice workout Wednesday and lacerating two toes.

Tomlinson was placed on injured reserve Thursday, with the team signing tight end Clive Walford to replace him on the roster. Walford was with the Jets in training camp.

Tomlinson, 26, had eight catches for 72 yards in 15 games, along with six tackles.

CB Morris Claiborne may miss Sunday’s game due to shoulder and ankle injuries. He has appeared in all 15 games so far this season, but has yet to practice this week.
