Christie's fantasy football moment reveals balancing act on gambling, experts say

DENVER — It was the moment that gave Gov. Chris Christie the most attention at the third Republican presidential debate Wednesday night.

When a moderator asked one of his rivals whether the federal government should regulate fantasy football the same way it does gambling, the brash New Jersey governor exploded.

"Are we really talking about getting the government involved in fantasy football?" Christie said toward the end of the event at the University of Colorado in Boulder. "Wait a second. We have $19 trillion in debt, we have people out of work, we have ISIS and al Qaeda attacking us — and we're talking about fantasy football?
