Brandon Marshall gives, and he takes away.
Two weeks after an incredible strip following a Ryan Fitzpatrick interception, Marshall had a brainlock Sunday, literally tossing the ball to the Eagles.
Late in the second quarter, Marshall caught a pass just outside the Jets’ 45-yard line and, down 17-0 at the time, was desperate to make a play. As a trio of Philadelphia defenders surrounded him and began to bring him down, he lateraled the ball backward to tight end Jeff Cumberland. The ball never reached its unsuspecting target.
Marshall’s ploy was inadvertently broken up by linebacker Connor Barwin’s face, richoeting off his face mask and onto the ground, where linebacker Jordan Hicks hungrily snapped it up.
