Bill Belichick pounces on receiver Jets just cut

This seemed predictable.

A day after the Jets cut 2017 fourth-round draft pick Chad Hansen, the rival Patriots signed the wide receiver, according to multiple reports.

As a rookie, Hansen caught nine passes for 94 yards and had begun to create a role for himself late in the year. However, after a strong spring, he struggled this summer and lost out to Charone Peake, a seventh-round pick of the Jets in 2016 who held more value on specials teams.

The Patriots ended Saturday’s cut-down day with just three wide receivers — Chris Hogan, Cordarrelle Patterson and Phillip Dorsett — and also claimed Amara Darboh on Sunday.
