It was important for the New York Jets organization to make sure the greatest city in the world was readily available for the world to see across its players’ chests. Christopher Johnson discussed that importance at last year’s uniform launch event, and it’s the first time in the franchise’s history the city “New York” is read anywhere on the uniform.
If only the team’s actual home was New York. If so, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Sunday announcement would have meant a lot more.
“Starting today, all the New York professional sports leagues will be able to begin training camps,” Cuomo announced on Sunday at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh.
