Adam Gase sets ‘realistic’ expectations for this Jets year

PHOENIX — It was not quite a playoff guarantee, but new Jets coach Adam Gase set the expectations for his team high on Tuesday.

“I’m looking at it as if we stay healthy, we should be in the conversation in December,” Gase said when asked whether the Jets can break their eight-year playoff drought. “That’s realistic. We have a good quarterback. We have a lot of good pieces around him. We feel like we’ve added a lot of pieces on defense.”

The Jets were aggressive in free agency, spending more guaranteed money than any other team. Now they will see if the investments in Le’Veon Bell, C.
