Admit it: When you think first-year head coach, you think rebuilding project.
That's not what Giants fans want to hear.
Not when the team has been to the playoffs only once in the last six seasons and with potential Hall of Fame quarterback Eli Manning still on the roster.
But not all first-year coaches need multiple years to get to the playoffs. NFL fan bases and owners, like society at large, don't have as much patience as they once did.
So how realistic is it that the Giants can make a quick turnaround under expected coach Pat Shurmur?
