3 Players The New York Jets Should Target In The First Round Of The 2018 NFL Draft

Despite entering Week 17 with a 5-10 record, it's been a better year than expected for the New York Jets. If the NFL Draft started today, the Jets would have the seventh overall pick. The Jets will play the New England Patriots in Foxborough in Week 17, which more than likely means their draft pick will not go above pick seven. Here are the Jets three most likely targets in the first round of the draft.

1.) Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma

Until the Jets find a quarterback, this team will not win games. Josh McCown played great this season, but couldn't stay healthy to finish the season. Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg aren't the answer for the Jets going forward, so why not draft the Heisman trophy winner? Baker can handle the spotlight in New York because he thrives in big moments and loves the spotlight. Baker the last three seasons combined has 117 passing touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

2.) Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame

The Jets obviously need a quarterback and if the top quarterbacks are off the board, then look for New York to upgrade its offensive line. McGlinchey is regarded as the best offensive lineman in the 2018 class. McGlinchey was named a Walter Camp First-Team All-American.

3.) Bradley Chubb, DE, N.C. State

Chubb is arguably the best edge rusher in the draft and if you ask many scouts he should go in the top five. The Jets struggled this season getting after the quarterback with only 26 sacks. The Jets need to have a dominant defense that can get after the quarterback if they have any chance of dethroning the Patriots. Chubb had back-to-back seasons with 10 sacks and finished this season with 72 total tackles.
