Russian winger Daniil Prokhorov, the New York Islanders’ second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft (42nd overall), was arguably the team’s most intriguing prospect taken in the June draft. The towering 6-foot-6, 218-pounder made headlines last season by scoring 20 goals and adding seven assists in 43 games for MHK Dynamo St. Petersburg in Russia’s MHL, showing off a powerful shot and bruising physicality that overwhelmed opposing defenders.
Now, Prokhorov has reportedly signed a tryout agreement with KHL club Dynamo Moscow, a logical next step as he looks to make the jump to Russia’s top professional league.
