New York Islanders Daily: Thomas Greiss Bounces Back

Sometimes in a loss, you can still sugarcoat something to take a positive out of an otherwise wasted opportunity. That logic applies to New York Islanders goalie Thomas Greiss in his second appearance of the year.

Thomas Greiss was much sharper this go around. Granted, opening night can’t be pinned all on him. His defense didn’t give him much support in Columbus.

Realistically, he didn’t have all that much support in the matinee yesterday either. In fact, it was Greiss who stood on his head keeping the Islanders in the game.

I mean look at this incredible save:

Greiss’ first great stop of the third frame.
