The first win of the season is in the books. With a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets, the New York Islanders have their first set of points on the board as they try to prove that their 103 point haul from 2018-19 was no mistake.
The first period was a dull affair. Much like they were against the Washington Capitals, the Islanders didn’t look threatening at all in the first frame. They still managed to register nine shots on net, but Winnipeg Jets goalie Laurent Brossoit was having an easy go in the crease.
