The New York Islanders made one move this offseason. They sent Ryan Strome to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Jordan Eberle.
Ok, they also sent their first-round pick in the draft to the Vegas Golden Knights so they would take Jean-Francois Berube, a pending UFA that they would never sign, and the last year of Mikhail Grabovski’s $5 million contract.
We expected more. Rumblings had the Isles looking to add both Jordan Eberle and Matt Duchene to the roster. But for now, we wait until Delusional Joe Sakic lowers his offer for his 26-year-old centerman.
Going into 2017-18 the Isles might just have to turn to their youth players to fill up the roster.
